[UFC 112]: Invincible - video, bonus e risultati (10/04/2010)

A seguito riporto i video del deludente evento targato UFC di ieri sera, ci si aspettava tantissimo ma come spesso accade quando ci si aspetta molto, si ottiene poco. Main Event che ha dell'incredible per il comportamento del campione, co-main event terminato con una decisione che sembra assurda, gracie vs hughes che sembra un incontro fra due pensionati... davvero male per l'UFC nella sua prima trasferta nel medio oriente.

Velasquez immenso, davvero una vittoria che lascia il segno.
penso che sia possibile ipotizzare che se Junior Dos Santos dovesse battere gonzaga il prossimo contendete al titolo HW (dopo il vincente di Mir-Carwin) sarà il vincente del match tra Junior Dos Santos e Velasquez, e credo che Velasquez spazzerebbe via anche questo brasiliano.

Sotiropoulos mi ha davvero stupito, non credevo sarebbe riuscito a dominare così facilmente un wrestler del calibro di Stevenson, se continua così nel giro di 1 anno potrebbe arrivare ad affrontare BJ Penn.

Sono contentissimo per Silva e soprattutto Crocop, avevano entrambi bisogno di questa vittoria e mi son sembrati entrambi nella miglior condizione di sempre da quando sono in UFC, chissà che il croato non ci regali ancora qualche emozione!
Wanderlei mi ha sorpreso per la buona tenuta fisica, credevo avrebbe accusato molto di + il weight-cut.

Buona prestazione di Ryan Bader che continua a scalare la classifica dei LHW.
Infine da antonomasia la submission di Lytle.

E' stata una serata davvero entusiasmante quella di ieri notte al BankAtlantic Center a Sunrise, Florida. Non sono mancati i colpi di scena, i KO e lo spettacolo è stato ottimo. E' stato un piacere seguire la diretta con voi minuto per minuto :)

Fight of the Week - Omigawa vs Takaya

Entering his Dec. 31 bout with UFC veteran Michihiro Omigawa (8-8-1), one could have expected former WEC fighter Hiroyuki Takaya (12-7-1) to have the edge standing.

Takaya, after all, had posted nine knockouts in his 12 career wins while Omigawa had just four among his eight total victories.

In fact, their “Dynamite!! 2009” featherweight fight remained standing and didn’t go to the mat. But as we see in the enclosed video, it wasn’t Takaya who had the edge in the striking department.
