[MMA]: M-1 Global Sets Sights on Japan
A press conference was held today in Tokyo. The theme of the event was "aiming at the globalization of MMA." The press conference was to announce a small show on 4/16 at Shinjuku FACE in Tokyo called "M-1 Selection ASIA EDITION 2010 Japan." Heading up M-1 Global Japan is former AtoZ Japanese pro-wrestling women’s wrestling ring announcer Mr. Tsuruga (he’s in the middle of the photo linked above). There will be M-1 events throughout Asia (including South Korea).
It will be a tough sell for M-1 Global really break into the already saturated Japanese market, which has started to show cracks much like the Japanese pro wrestling industry did after the All Japan split into NOAH and Shin'ya Hashimoto leaving New Japan to form Zero-One after the shame of his series with Judoka and MMA "fighter" Naoya Ogawa. ASTRA has shown what could be the beginning of vanity MMA promotions (as it is Yoshida Dojo's vehicle at the moment) in MMA in Japan, which on top of DREAM, SRC (the big two) and the smaller promotions like SHOOTO, DEEP, ZST and GCM. If Japan continues to fracture, any outside force breaking into the market will be futile (be it UFC, M-1, Strikeforce or anybody else).

[M-1]: selection 2010 eastern Europe middleweight tournament - risultati (26/02/2010)
The 25-year-old Sultankhamedov has won five straight fights, the last three of them by knockout. He set the tone early against the previously unbeaten Kusch, as he controlled the first round with superior grappling and striking. Sultankhamedov mounted Kusch near the end of the opening stanza and seized his back as the bell sounded. It was a sign of what was to come.
Kusch scored with a takedown early in round two but failed to keep his opponent grounded and met his demise less than a minute into the third.
Other middleweight winners were Dibir Zagirov (unanimous decision over Anatoly Lavrov), Alexei Belyaev (split decision over Gasan Imalatov) and Murad Magomedov (armbar submission against Ruslan Haskhanov).
Meanwhile, Alexander Sarnavskiy moved into the next round in the lightweight bracket, as he submitted Maxim Kuptsov with a rear-naked choke. The end came 4:03 into the first round.
An unbeaten 21-year-old, Sarnavskiy, after a brief stand-up exchange, dominated Kuptsov on the ground. He took his opponent’s back during a scramble, locked him in a body triangle and softened him with thudding punches from behind. Several minutes worth of punishment paid dividends, as Sarnavskiy, bleeding heavily from the nose, cinched a rear-naked choke and coaxed a back-handed tapout from Kuptsov.
Other lightweight victors were Karen Grigoryan (rear-naked choke submission against Magomed Magomedov), Arsen Ubaidulaev (unanimous decision over Yuri Saakyan) and Artiom Damkovsky (unanimous decision over Shamil Abdulkerimov).
Finally, Alihan Magomedov remained perfect as a professional and pressed on to the next round of the light heavyweight draw, as he submitted Ibragim Halilov with a rear-naked choke 44 seconds into the second period. It marked the first time Magomedov had been pushed into the second round.
Other light heavyweight winners were Rasul Magomedov (split decision over Ilya Malyukov), Shamil Tinagadjiev (rear-naked choke submission against Igor Savelyev) and Ratmir Teuvazhukov (triangle choke submission against Maxim Rozhkov).

[M-1 Global]: Selection - quarti di finale (Europa dell'ovest) - Sergheu Popa protagonista (05/02/2010)
Il forte atleta della Bulldog Clan è alla sua prima esperienza internazionale dei PRO.
Buono il match di Serghei Popa al M-1 Selection che lo vedeva opposto a Rafal Moks.
Anche se il match non è andato come tutti speravamo il nostro atleta ha dimostrato di avere le qualità per emergere nel difficile circuito delle MMA professionistiche.
Alessandro Paniettieri (coach di Popa) avrà modo di lavorare al meglio su questo giovane atleta sul quale puntiamo per il futuro. Leggi tutto...

[M-1 Global]: Selection - quarti di finale (Europa dell'ovest) (05/02/2010)
Il primo evento di selezione inizierà con una card di 14 combattimenti questo venerdì alle 12:00 p.m. EST.
La serie di selezioni sarà divisa in 4 grosse regioni: Europa dell'ovest, Europa dell'est, Asie e Americhe. Per ogni regione si terrà un torneo a 8 ad eliminazione in ognuna delle 5 categorie di peso, con il vincitore finale che si sarà guadagno una posizione nella squadra del M-1 Challenge per la stagione 2010.
Da notare la presenza dell'italiano Serghei Popa!!!

[KL] Kombat League - INFO EVENTI stagione 2010
Anche quest'anno la crescita della federazione è stata esponenziale e decine di nuove A.S.D. si sono iscritte in federazione.
Notevole lo sviluppo che stà avendo la FMTI (Federazione Muay Thai italiana) e moltissima l'attività di promozione in collaborazione della KL.
Sono ormai arrivati a conclusione le tappe dei campionati regionali che decretano gli atleti qualificati alle fasi Centro Nord e Centro Sud che si svolgeranno tra fine febbraio e gli inizi di marzo, in vista degli Assoluti che si disputeranno il 28 marzo a Porto Picena Potenza nelle Marche.
Attività intensa per la scuderia professionistica KL con Saro "The Sicilian Don" Presti al K1 Max Europe Elimination il 21 marzo in Olanda e Serghei Popa selezionato per il prestigiosissimo circuito di MMA M-1 selection che si svolgerà sempre in Olanda il 05 febbraio.

CHI: Combattenti partecipanti al primo turno del tornei ad eliminazione nelle seguenti categorie di peso: -70kg, -76kg, -84kg. L'evento sarà caratterizzato da 4 combattimenti per categoria di peso ed avrà in vetrina 8 combattenti selezionati M-1.
